afraid to cry. 

My salt tears 

mist the sky. 

I wake in shards,

a rising tide.

Memories swirl,

both truth and lie.

I am the ocean,

I am the stream.

I am the emotion

of a true dream.

I am a dolphin

jumping waves.

I am the savior

Waiting to be saved.

I am the blessed,

I am the cursed.

I am a fractal

of the u-ni-verse.

I won’t obey

I won’t fade away

I fight ghosts within

I plant my heart again.

I am the mirror

and the flame.

I burn illusions

and carry names.

Today, my invention,

Tomorrow, my ascension.

I’ve carried eons 

in these bones; 

A thousand lifetimes, 

not my own.

I am a dolphin

Survival via deflection.

Revival of connection.

Ready for resurrection.

Living a projection,

Another rejection.

I’m used to them,

I reckon.

Cultural customs,

Everyone’s accustomed

to total submission,

but I’m on a mission.

I face the phantoms within,

Fallow fields in my heart.

I choose my past, my part.

Callow memories, depart.

Obey my inner compass,

Follow my feelings,

Harrowing healing,

A new beginning.

Reject projections.

Owning phantoms,
